On Azatlyk Square, the Mayor of the city Nail Magdeev congratulated the residents and guests of the city on the upcoming holiday.

"The year 2022 was difficult, tense, and anxious for our entire country, the republic, and our city. We are all living in the conditions of a special military operation and mobilization: the city has sent more than a thousand of its best sons to the special military operation zone. Undoubtedly, we worry about them, we are proud of them! Being there, I once again saw their high morale. Unfortunately, there are casualties among our soldiers. Eternal memory! On behalf of our soldiers, I want to express my gratitude to every resident of Chelny for their support. During this difficult time, the economy of our city has continued to function, and enterprises have fulfilled their obligations to their employees. Over the past year, we have together managed to repair roads and build a theater and a school. This is our hard work, our great success!"

"The New Year is a family-oriented, warm, and soulful holiday. Everyone makes wishes that they hope will come true in 2023. I wish everyone family happiness, love, and well-being," said the mayor of the city.

Creative groups prepared performances for the New Year's program. However, this year there were no festive fireworks on the city's main square – the residents of Chelny voted against having fireworks. Nevertheless, all public festivities with fairytale characters for adults and children took place: on Azatlyk Square, in the Zamelekesye microdistrict, and in Sidorovka Park.

Traditionally, a broadcast of the New Year's greetings from the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin will be organized on the main square.
