Starting from January this year, residents of the Republic of Tatarstan can apply for one of three types of pension savings payments: a life-long funded pension, a lump-sum payment, or a term payment. Already 1,500 people have received their funds, reported the Branch of the Social Fund of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan.

The key criterion for choosing the payment format is the federal subsistence minimum for pensioners – in 2026, it is 16,288 rubles per month. To calculate the monthly amount of the funded pension, the total amount of savings is divided by the expected payment period – 270 months. The resulting figure is compared to the threshold of 10% of the subsistence minimum for pensioners, which is 1,628.80 rubles.

If the calculated monthly payment does not exceed 1,628.80 rubles, the citizen becomes eligible for a lump-sum payment of all savings. The threshold amount for this option in 2026 is 439,776 rubles. If savings are above this level, a life-long monthly payment is assigned.

"Most applications in Tatarstan are for a lump-sum payment. These are usually cases with a short period of accumulation, where the total amount is small – it is paid out in full at once. By law, money is transferred within two months after a positive decision," explained Eduard Vafin, Manager of the Branch of the Social Fund for the Republic of Tatarstan.

The funded pension assumes monthly payments for the rest of one's life. A term payment is available only to those who formed savings through additional insurance contributions or maternity capital funds. The duration of such payment is chosen by the applicant, but it cannot be shorter than 120 months.

In 2026, women from the age of 55 and men from the age of 60 have the right to receive funds. If there is a right to an early pension, the payment of savings is possible before the generally established age.

To assign a funded or term payment, it is necessary to simultaneously have an insurance record of at least 15 years and an individual pension coefficient of 30 or higher.

Pension savings have been formed for the following categories of citizens: men born in 1953–1966 and women born in 1957–1966 for whom the employer paid contributions in 2002–2004; citizens born in 1967 and younger for whom contributions were transferred in 2002–2013; those who voluntarily pay additional insurance contributions; and mothers who directed maternity capital to their funded pension.

Receiving savings is applicant-driven. You can submit an application via the «Госуслуги» portal, at a client office of the Social Fund, or at an MFC. If savings are held in a non-state pension fund, you must contact the NPF directly.
