Preventive campaigns for free and anonymous HIV testing will take place in Naberezhnye Chelny to mark the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial Day. Specialists from the AIDS Center will provide consultations to residents at two locations: the Omega shopping mall and GES Park.
On May 13 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, rapid testing will be conducted at the Omega shopping mall, and on May 14 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM – at the GES Park of Culture and Leisure. At these locations, it will be possible to quickly and confidentially learn one's HIV status, receive advice from specialists, and get up-to-date information on preventing the infection.
"HIV has long ceased to be a topic that is uncomfortable to talk about. The sooner a person learns about their status, the more opportunities they have to maintain their quality of life and health," the organizers remind. Anonymity, speed of results, and professional support are the key principles of these campaigns.
Medical professionals emphasize that modern therapy allows people with HIV to live a fulfilling life, work, and start families. The main thing is to undergo diagnostics in a timely manner and, if necessary, begin medical observation.
