The incidence of ARVI and influenza has increased in the republic

Deputy Chief Physician for Medical Affairs at the Naberezhnye Chelny Infectious Diseases Hospital, Tatyana Aglyamova, reminded about the rules of respiratory etiquette during the traditional epidemiological threshold for influenza and ARVI incidence.

"The incidence has increased by more than 20%, and the number of people visiting the infectious diseases hospital has grown," she reported. "But acute respiratory diseases and their consequences are easier to prevent than to treat and fight. First of all, I want to remind you about vaccination. The COVID vaccine remains relevant. And also respiratory etiquette: washing your face, washing your hands, not sending a sick child to kindergarten or school. Above all, think about the fact that your health is in your own hands. Prevention is the most important thing."

Over the last weekend, the number of visits to the emergency department of the infectious diseases hospital tripled. While previously up to 60 patients sought care, this weekend the number exceeded 250 people. There are 257 patients undergoing treatment in the inpatient ward; two-thirds of them are pneumonia patients, young children with acute respiratory diseases, and pregnant women. Tatyana Aglyamova drew the attention of Chelny residents to the fact that young children, the older generation, and people with chronic diseases remain in the risk group for morbidity.
