By tradition, the season will open with the City Athletics Relay Race, dedicated to the 78th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The competitions are held on the Fikryat Tabeev embankment. On April 28, more than 2,000 participants and teams from general education schools, vocational education institutions, higher education institutions, organizations, and enterprises of the city will start.
On May 20, the mass running competition "Sberbank Green Half Marathon" will take place in the "Pribrezhny" park.
"In addition to athletic starts and a concert program for everyone, the event will host environmental campaigns, such as planting trees and shrubs. This is a symbiosis of ecology and a healthy lifestyle, which we will conduct together," shared Roman Nasredinov, Head of the Physical Culture and Sports Department, during the staff meeting. In June, residents and guests of the city will celebrate the Tatar folk holiday "Sabantuy". As part of the celebration, competitions in various sports will be held in the city, including national folk games, horse racing, and national wrestling, where the Absolute Batyr of "Sabantuy" is determined. Interesting activities and innovations are already being prepared.
Every year in August, Russia celebrates the Athlete's Day. By tradition, this holiday is celebrated with a 21 km run. This year, the "Kamsky Half Marathon" is planned to be held on August 5, together with the TIMERMAN sports series organization. The half marathon route will pass through the central avenues of the city. Athletes will compete at distances of 3, 10, and 21 km. For the youngest sports fans, the TIMERKIDS run will be organized.
"Today's task is: to prepare the facilities and organize ourselves. Coaches, teams, prize fund, material base – everything for the summer sports season. These are pleasant chores, organizing work for holding mass sports events for our people," noted the Mayor of the city Nail Magdeev.
It is planned to finish the mass sports season in September with the most massive competition, "Cross of Tatarstan". Thousands of citizens will measure their strength at distances of 1, 2, and 4 kilometers. The preliminary venues are the "Pribrezhny" park and the "Culture and Recreation Park of the GES settlement".
