The public assistant to the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan for the city of Naberezhnye Chelny, Olga Silaicheva, presented a report on the results of her activities for 2025.

"The past year of 2025 has become another stage in our joint work to ensure compliance with the rights and freedoms of citizens. On behalf of the public assistant, I want to thank every resident of our city for their active participation in shaping civil society and strengthening the principles of justice and legality," noted Olga Silaicheva, opening her speech.

During the reporting period, 67 citizen appeals were received, which is 10 more than in 2024. Each of them received the necessary legal support and recommendations. Personal receptions were organized on a regular basis (weekly on Fridays), as well as online receptions with the participation of heads of departments, and follow-ups on reports from media and public organizations.

Interaction with supervisory authorities became an important direction. Joint receptions with the prosecutor's office have become traditional: in 2025, three such events were held on issues of housing and utility services, healthcare, and medicine supply.

Special attention was paid to supporting participants of the special military operation and their family members. Olga Silaicheva gave an example: together with the "Zashchitniki Otechestva" foundation, a visit was organized to a family of pensioners who were searching for their missing soldier son, offering assistance with home DNA testing.

In the year of the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan elections, the issue of accessible environment at polling stations was kept under control. Thanks to the conditions created (ramps, magnifying devices, mobile voting), 98-year-old Great Patriotic War veteran Valentin Lysak was able to vote independently.

One of the vivid examples of comprehensive assistance to families in difficult life situations was the story of a city resident who took guardianship of her two grandchildren after losing her loved ones. With the assistance of the district administration, deputy Evgeny Mikhailov, entrepreneurs, and companies, the family's apartment underwent major renovations, windows and doors were replaced, and a kitchen set was gifted.

In the field of legal education, "Law Lessons" were conducted for high school students, as well as regional seminars for education advisors. In the summer of 2025, together with the Education Department, suburban camps were inspected for anti-terrorist security and sanitary standards; minor shortcomings identified (chipped dishes, untimely grass mowing) were promptly resolved.

The priorities for 2026 include increasing the efficiency of processing requests with on-site visits, implementing digital services for tracking applications, and expanding crime prevention through explanatory work with employers.
