A meeting of the City Council Commission on Public Health and Social Protection was held in Naberezhnye Chelny, taking place at the R.S. Akchurin Emergency Hospital (BSMP). The event was part of the national project "Long and Active Life," which aims to improve the quality and accessibility of medical care, introduce innovative treatment methods, and strengthen the material base of medical organizations. Developing high-tech care is a priority of the project, enabling the saving of lives even in the most complex clinical cases.
Before the meeting, the Chief Physician of the BSMP, Roman Dzhumabaev, familiarized the attendees with the institution's activities. It should be noted that the BSMP has been providing high-tech medical care in 6 profiles since 2011: neurosurgery, cardiovascular surgery, traumatology and orthopedics, combustiology, and surgery. In 2023, the institution received a license for organ and tissue transplantation. The first heart transplant was performed on February 14, 2024.
During the meeting, the Head of the Healthcare Department, Rustam Nugmanov, noted that modern, diverse, and accessible high-tech medical care is provided in the city. This significantly improves the quality of patient care and meets modern healthcare standards.
High-tech medical care in Naberezhnye Chelny is provided by 3 medical institutions: R.S. Akchurin Emergency Hospital, the Hearing Rehabilitation Center, and the Naberezhnye Chelny branch of the M.Z. Sigal Republican Clinical Oncology Dispensary.
To date, the BSMP has successfully performed 5 heart transplants, 3 kidney transplants, and 3 liver transplants. Hearing-improving surgeries have been performed at the Hearing Rehabilitation Center since 2010. The Oncology Dispensary provides high-tech medical care in 6 modern areas.
