Victory Day in Naberezhnye Chelny: celebration program

On May 9, Naberezhnye Chelny will host the main celebratory events dedicated to the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. This year, the program will combine three main thematic directions: the greatness of the feat in honor of the 81st anniversary of Victory, the hero's legacy in the year of the 120th anniversary of the birth of the poet-hero Musa Jalil, as well as the continuity of generations within the framework of the Year of Military and Labor Valor.

The celebrations will begin with a rally at the Musa Jalil monument at 08:30, and at the same time, the procedure of the Honor Guard at the “Motherland” memorial complex will be announced. At 9:30, a large children's choir and a combined orchestra will perform for the citizens, and cadet demonstration performances will take place.

At 10:00, a ceremonial Victory Parade will be held on Musa Jalil Avenue at the “Motherland” memorial. 41 parade formations will march past, including the city's cadet schools, students of higher and secondary vocational educational institutions, activists of the “YUNARMIYA” movement and the All-Russian movement of children and youth “Movement of the First”, as well as reserve veterans. Equipment that is currently produced in Naberezhnye Chelny for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, as well as equipment from the Great Patriotic War, will take part in the military parade. The parade will conclude with the laying of wreaths and flowers at the “Motherland” memorial.

Festive events will continue in three districts of the city – Avtozavodsky, Komsomolsky and Tsentralny, where the reconstruction of the “Soldier's Porridge” field kitchen will be organized, as well as concerts by creative groups and the distribution of soldier's porridge.

The main theatrical program titled “Glory shall not fade. Memory must live!” will take place at the Maidan of the “Pribrezhny” park. Students of higher and secondary specialized educational institutions, pupils of general education and cadet schools, choreographic, vocal and choral groups of cultural institutions will take part in it. The total number of participants in the program will be 3,000 people.

Students of cadet schools will take part in the opening of the holiday, carrying the Victory Banner, standards of the fronts of the Great Patriotic War, and state banners to the center of the Maidan. In the “Immortal Regiment” block, students of general education institutions will take part in a ceremonial procession with portraits of Great Patriotic War veterans and fallen soldiers of the special military operation. The first part of the program will present the atmosphere of the pre-war time, the days of the beginning of the war, the war years, and the joy of meeting the long-awaited Victory. For the first time, major milestones of the war will be presented on mobile platforms in installations, where theater actors will speak about the tragedies of military events in a poetic form. A separate block will be dedicated to Hero of the Soviet Union Musa Jalil, his longing for his Homeland and family while in captivity, and the “Soldier's Friendship” block will show the multinational unity of soldiers at the front.

In the second part of the program, the young generation of Russian patriots will perform. Pupils of cadet schools and the “Kaskad” military-patriotic club of the polytechnic college will present demonstration performances. The culmination of the theatrical program will be a ceremonial parade of the city's cadet schools and the performance of the song “Victory Day” together with the people's choir of veterans.

After the theatrical performance, a concert of children's creative groups will be held for the city's residents. At 19:00, the All-Russian “Minute of Silence” campaign will be announced. The holiday will end with a grand concert of soloists and creative groups of the city, a laser show, and a festive firework display at 20:30.

Mayor of the city Nail Magdeev instructed the heads of the districts to put the monuments in order after the winter, noting: “The most important thing is special attention to those remaining, our respected veterans of the Great Patriotic War. Unfortunately, there are fewer of them every year. The attitude towards this Great Victory of our multinational people is special in every family. Every family has felt this: both the male and female parts of every family suffered losses. Therefore, this is both a holiday and a day of remembrance.”

“The most important thing when holding events to celebrate the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War is the protection of public order. This is the number one task. In the context of the special military operation, places of mass gathering of citizens must be provided with a high level of security and all screening measures must be carried out. All relevant services must be involved in ensuring the protection of public order.”
