102 athletes from five cities of the republic competed for awards at the Republic of Tatarstan Judo Championship for men and women, which concluded in Kazan. The competitions are held in accordance with the goals of the state program "Sport of Russia" of the national project "Youth and Children".
Vyacheslav Egorov, training under the guidance of Andrey Bazhitov and Nail Tagirov, became the winner in the weight category up to 100 kg. In the super heavyweight division (100+ kg), Ramil Garappov took first place – his mentor is Ivan Nikonov. The silver medalist in the same category was Iskander Akhmadaliev, who is coached by Andrey Bazhitov and Ivan Sharygin. Danil Chernov, who trains with Nail Tagirov and Vitaly Ivanov, won bronze in the up to 66 kg weight category.
Judokas from Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, Yelabuga, Nizhnekamsk, and the settlement of Dzhalil took part in the tournament. The competitions helped to identify the strongest athletes of the republic and determine candidates for participation in federal-level events.
The training process of the winners and medalists is ensured by highly qualified specialists whose work is already yielding results at the republican level. The training of athletes is conducted in accordance with modern methods and standards of sports training in judo.
