The strategy for the development of the oncological service was announced by Almaz Khaziev, Chief physician of the Naberezhnye Chelny branch of the Republican Oncological Dispensary, during a meeting of the medical council.
"The tasks we face remain extremely ambitious. According to the indicators of the national project, in particular, the one-year mortality rate, the value of the indicator from the current level of 21.12% by 2024 should reach 17.3%. That is, the indicator should decrease by 22% from current levels," the city's chief oncologist said.
Almaz Khaziev noted the important role of primary care in the prevention of cancer: "Primary healthcare is the level where the first contact with the population takes place. The success of the service as a whole largely depends on how quickly, effectively and efficiently this link in cancer prevention issues works. I would like to emphasize that in order for the specialized service to work at full capacity, it is necessary to strengthen coordinated collaboration and follow the procedure for routing patients, starting from the primary health care level," he said.
A branch of the Republican Clinical Oncology Dispensary has opened in Naberezhnye Chelny. In addition, the oncological service in the city is represented by 8 primary oncological offices, an oncological dispensary and 2 inpatient surgical departments located in multidisciplinary non-specialized institutions.
