In Naberezhnye Chelny, the opening of the Championship of the Volga Federal District in Greco-Roman wrestling among juniors under 21, in memory of the Honored builder of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Russian Federation, laureate of the USSR Council of Ministers Prize Marat Bibishev, took place at the Vityaz Olympic Reserve Sports School.
The solemn ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Naberezhnye Chelny Nail Magdeev, Chairman of the Association "Council of Municipalities of the Republic of Tatarstan", Master of Sports of the USSR in Greco-Roman wrestling, Honored Master of Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan in national wrestling Adam Gubaidullin, deputy of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, First Vice-President of the Federation of Greco-Roman Wrestling Marcel Mingalimov and others..
Nail Magdeev greeted the participants of the sports festival. "We are honored to host the Championship of the Volga Federal District in Greco-Roman wrestling in our city for the sixth time. Today, the best wrestlers from 14 regions of Russia gathered in this hall to demonstrate beautiful uncompromising wrestling. We will be rooting for each of you, may luck accompany you," he said.
Adam Gubaidullin congratulated everyone on the start of the competition. "On behalf of the Wrestling Federation of the Republic of Tatarstan, I welcome you to this beautiful hall, where the championship of the Volga Federal District in Greco-Roman wrestling among juniors will be held. Our athletes occupy leading positions not only at the national level, but also at the level of Europe and the world," he stressed, noting that the republic has created good conditions for physical education and sports.
It should be noted that 180 athletes participate in the competition. The Tatarstan national team consists of 30 people, four of whom represent the sports school of the Olympic reserve "Vityaz" named after M.Sh. Bibishev.
In total, 218 athletes are engaged in the department of Greco-Roman wrestling at the Naberezhnye Chelny school under the guidance of six coaches. The school underwent major repairs.
