In January 2021, an increase in thermal energy consumption by 22% compared to January 2020 was detected in Naberezhnye Chelny due to frosts. The average daily temperature in Naberezhnye Chelny in January 2021 was 11.8 °C, which is 6.9°C colder than the same period in 2020. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Construction, Architecture and Housing of Tatarstan.

According to Gazprom Mezhregiongaz, gas sales in Tatarstan increased significantly in the winter months of 2020-2021 due to low temperatures. Thus, in December 2020, the total gas consumption in the republic amounted to 1.94 billion cubic meters, with an increase of 12% compared to December 2019. In January 2021, gas consumption in Tatarstan increased to 1.95 billion cubic meters with an increase of 17% by 2020.

"It should be noted that payments for heating are calculated based on the actual consumption of thermal energy recorded by household metering devices. The equipment of household heat metering devices in the city of Naberezhnye Chelny is 99.9%, and weather control units are 99%. The tariff for thermal energy did not change in January 2021, the last change in this tariff was carried out on July 1, 2020, the correction was 4%, which is commensurate with the inflation rate," the press service noted.

In apartment buildings equipped with communal metering devices, savings on heat energy payments largely depend on the tenants themselves. As a result, all residents of the house have to pay for poorly insulated windows and open panes in individual apartments. It is important to pay attention to the doors and windows in the entrances, which must also be closed.

The invoice for housing and communal services contains the main parameters that can be compared with the indicators of the previous month. Sudden changes in any points (month to month) may be a reason to contact the management company for clarification. Residents of apartment buildings can also contact the State Housing Inspectorate of the Republic of Tatarstan to protect their rights.

By his decree on December 14, 2020, the President of Tatarstan approved the size of the marginal growth indices for housing and communal services for 2021. The indexation of tariffs for housing and communal services will take place in July 2021, and for the vast majority of Tatarstan residents, the maximum wage growth indices will be 4.4%. At the same time, the size of the index does not mean that the increase in utility bills will occur by this amount. In 2020, the index was 4%, and the actual increase in payments was 3.6%, which is significantly lower than inflation.
