The 25th anniversary Salavat Cup races were held in Naberezhnye Chelny. The grand opening of the competition took place today. The event was attended by Mayor Nail Magdeev, First Deputy Minister of Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan Khalil Shaikhutdinov, People's Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan Salavat Fatkhutdinov.
"We thank the athletes for finding the opportunity to come to Naberezhnye Chelny, the capital of the automotive industry in our country. Good mood, good weather. I would like the sporting spirit to be present today and the strongest to win," said the mayor of the city, welcoming the participants and fans.
28 athletes are participating in the race. Let us remind you that the Salavat Cup is the only charity motorsport competition in Russia. A certificate worth 100,000 rubles was handed over to the Naberezhnye Chelny Orphanage.
Today, the races were held in the "1400" and "1600" classes. According to the results of the races, Vasily Korablev became the winner in the 1400 class, and Oleg Zhavoronkov in the 1600 class.
