The Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan spoke about the changes in the order of the Unified State Exam and the state final certification of graduates of grades 9 and 11 in 2021. Ilsur Khadiullin.
Graduates In order to receive a secondary school certificate, it will be enough to pass the state final exam in Russian and mathematics. Graduates applying for a medal are required to pass the exams perfectly.
The unified state exam will be held for graduates of previous years who plan to enroll in universities, and for tenth graders who are ready to take the exam ahead of schedule. Tenth graders can optionally take the Unified State Exam in subjects that are fully completed at the end of 10th grade, including geography. In order to pass the Unified State Exam in any other subject a year earlier, it is necessary to complete the study of this subject ahead of schedule, if there is an individual curriculum.
"Children can take geography, because geography ends in the 10th grade, and after completing the full cycle, they have the right to take the exam. If they study as an external student according to an individual program, they can also take it after the 10th grade. But we are not in favor of students getting involved in the Unified State Exam, because a full–fledged course in all subjects needs to go through a full cycle," Ilsur Khadiullin said.
To minimize the risks of the spread of coronavirus, in 2021, the State Final Certification for ninth graders will be organized according to simplified rules.
"Ninth graders will not take an elective subject. They will be able to receive certificates of basic general education after passing the state certification in two compulsory subjects: Russian and mathematics," said the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan.
An innovation awaits students who have chosen the Unified State Exam in computer science: the exam will be held on a computer for the first time. Despite this, the number of participants in the Unified State Exam in informatics in Tatarstan has doubled and amounts to almost 600 people.
"We are currently purchasing equipment and equipping classrooms where the Unified State Exam in computer science will be held. These are computers, scanners, printers. We will definitely create all the conditions before the exams begin. Conditions have also been created for testing the exam in this form," said the head of the Ministry of Education and Science.
In addition, the duration of the Unified State Exam in biology increased from 210 to 235 minutes. Students will get 25 minutes more time on the exam.
In 2021, more than 18 thousand participants will take the Unified State Exam in Tatarstan during the main period . 16.5 of them are graduates of the current year, 186 are students of vocational education, 1307 are graduates of previous years and 249 are students with disabilities .
