Deputy Alfiya Kogogina, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy, Industry, Innovative Development and Entrepreneurship, commented on the draft law: "The adopted initiative is aimed at ensuring safe and high-quality holidays for tourists and making the tourism services market transparent. The unified register will ensure effective state control and consumer protection from unscrupulous intermediaries."
The promotion and sale of a tourist product will be possible only from the date of posting information in the register on the official website of the Federal Tourism Agency.
If the contract concluded between the tour operator and the travel agent provides for the possibility of selling and promoting a tourist product through subagents, the register will also reflect information about the travel agent's subagents.
The law will enter into force on January 1, 2022. Within six months, tour operators will be required to enter information about travel agents operating on the basis of contracts concluded with tour operators (legal entities and sole proprietors) into the register.
