The XIV All-Russian Folk Dance Festival "Ural Pereplyas" has come to an end in Chelyabinsk.It brought together 45 folk dance groups from all over the country, more than 1,000 participants.
The festival is held in memory of the dynasty of choreographers of the Southern Urals - Honored Artist of Russia Natalia Kartashova and Honored Worker of Culture of Russia Tatiana Reus. It is organized by the V.D. Polenov State Russian House of Folk Art, the Chelyabinsk State Folk Art Center and the Natalia Kartashova and Tatiana Reus Foundation for the Development of Folk Dance. This year, the festival was held using a grant from the President of the Russian Federation provided by the Presidential Grants Foundation.
The competition program lasted two days. The dance numbers were evaluated by an authoritative jury headed by Elena Shcherbakova, People's Artist of Russia, artistic director of the Igor Moiseev State Academic Folk Dance Ensemble. As a result, the Tatarstan Dance Ensemble of the Naberezhnye Chelny College of Culture became the winner of the 1st degree diploma in the "Pro" category in the "Scenic Folk Dance" nomination.
